| The patient is a 42-year-old postman who first came to the practice in 1995 with tiredness and allergies. He was allergic to tree and grass pollens, which made him sneeze and caused itching of his nose and eyes. When he blew his nose, he often had nosebleeds. He had an eczema between his eyebrows and along his moustache, and occasionally developed a rash on his face. He suffered from food allergies; his throat swelled when he ate apples, pears, melons, potatoes, plums or nuts. Then his lips swelled and his palate itched. Sometimes he developed bronchitis and coughed up green phlegm. He had pain in his right shoulder, which worsened when sorting the letters at work. He was very tired and had little libido. He was also very irritable, especially when colleagues or children teased him. "I really feel hurt very quickly." |

He is married, has two daughters and has been a postman for 25 years. He is active in the New Apostolic Church congregation, where he is the "welcoming brother"; the person who stands at the church door and greets people as they enter. "This is my way of putting brotherly love into practice. I like to help people; I find it hard to say no. I want to help others to lead a good life." |
| "I am too good-natured; I often feel pressured by people and let myself be pushed into things I did not want to do." He is the second child in a family of four. He always helps his parents, although he receives neither recognition nor praise from his father. He is hot-tempered, easily annoyed and later regretful, forgives and forgets everything. Sometimes he has fits of rage: once at work he threw his bag of letters around. | |
First prescription: Kalium sulfuricum 200K After he received Sanguinaria 200K, his energy and libido returned, his allergic complaints subsided and he was much less irritable. He took the last dose of Sanguinaria in spring 1997 and has been well since. |

| An interesting detail: a 55-year-old man with spastic colon responded well to Chelidonium; he was also a welcoming brother at the church door. | |
