From the polite ritual of the cultured tea-drinker and the dark urge to violence: An impressive case study of Thea chinensis.
Joy, community and refinement as pleasant aspects of Thea contrast with its dark side, the tendency to violence. In one case study, the typical negative thoughts and impulses disappear under treatment with Thea. Other facets of this everyday drug are insecurity, anxiety about having done something wrong, and the feeling, well known from other drugs, of being unloved and abandoned, increased irritability, envy and malice, and a pronounced coldness in the physical and emotional spheres.
