Burnout presents in many patients with similar symptoms but is caused by very different factors. The author shows how, by her very personal and empathetic approach to homeopathic and psychotherapeutic history‑taking, she records the key elements of the patient's individual biography. Thus she is able, in the chronic exhaustion state of the Lac humanum case, to recognise the underlying early‑childhood attachment disorder; in the Daphne mezereum case to address the link between chronic immune weakness and burnout; and to bring to light the burnout problem in a young, well‑compensated patient amid prolonged respiratory tract infections.
