The current state of knowledge on the epidemiology, diagnosis and treatment of Lyme borreliosis is briefly summarised. A distinction is made between the different locations and clinical manifestations of the early and late stages. The special role of homeopathy in the treatment of antibiotic-resistant cases and the syndrome of chronic borreliosis, together with its possible differential diagnoses, is discussed.
