An overview of the state of research, preparation and testing of avian remedies.
In homeopathy, vertebrates played a subordinate role until relatively recently. Within this already sparsely represented group of remedies, birds occupied the smallest place. From the 19th century there were only eggshell lime and seabird guano (guano). For a long time, snake venoms and milk remedies seemed to be the only vertebrate medicines to attract the interest of homeopathy. Even during the explosive increase in substances used in homeopathic practice since the 1990s, it again took some time before the first bird remedies were able to establish a firm place.
