In this interview with Heidi Brand, Sunirmal Sarkar talks about his career and his very long working day in practice, which, due to the high patient numbers, leaves little time for comprehensive analyses. "80–90% of cases can be decided quickly," he demonstrates using the example of a Lilium tigrinum case – only the art of observation and a good linking of these symptoms with the materia medica makes it possible to prescribe confidently with only 2–3 symptoms. His particular idea regarding cancer treatment is the administration of homoeopathically potentised chemotherapeutic agents. According to the law of similars, his view is that drugs which, in their toxic effect, induce cancer should, in potentised form, also cure those symptoms. With Heidi Brand he discusses his experiences with the potentised use of remedies such as pantoprazole, cisplatin, methotrexate and others, both as adjuncts to chemotherapy – to reduce side effects – and in patients who do not receive chemotherapy. He explains the importance of the chronology of disease phenomena, of traumas as possible triggers of cancer development, and of the physical symptoms for remedy selection. Potentised chemotherapeutic agents as an additional element – another option in homoeopathic treatment to enable doing the best for the patient – that is Sarkar's aim. |
