Genital herpes is a very sensitive topic and an extremely distressing condition for the patient. But homeopathy has a great deal to offer here as well.
I would like to introduce you here to the Banerji protocols, which have proved very helpful in the treatment of genital herpes. I do not know of any homeopathic treatment method that achieves comparably good results.
It is important beforehand to have the diagnosis confirmed so you can be sure it is indeed herpes and not a rash or another sexually transmitted infection.
And please always remember that homeopathic remedies are not dietary supplements or herbal products for strengthening the immune system.

Homeopathy is medicine.
This of course means that homeopathic remedies do not only provide supportive effects but can also be corrective, and for this reason a reliable diagnosis should always be made.
As always when carrying out treatment according to the Banerji method, one should begin with a single dose of Camphora C200. The remedy is taken only once.
You may wonder why this is.
Quite simply: many patients suffering from genital herpes have often already been through a long odyssey of conventional medical treatments. From a homeopathic point of view it is therefore important to cleanse the organism to create a good basis for the homeopathic remedies. Camphora C200 is ideally suited for this.
In the next step Mercurius sol. C200 is taken together with Arsenicum album C200 twice daily (at 12-hour intervals).
If the rash is accompanied by severe pain, you can additionally take Hypericum C200: take Hypericum C200 together with Arsenicum album C200 for several days or until the pain has subsided.
Please follow the treatment protocol given below.
A word about combined remedies: You can order the remedies from your pharmacy as a combination (complex) remedy or mix them yourself. If you buy individual remedies, take 2–3 pellets of each remedy onto the tongue, either simultaneously or one after the other.
To recap:
Day 1: One dose of Camphora C200, to be taken only on this day.
Day 2: Start taking Mercurius sol. C200 together with Arsenicum album C200, twice daily, until all symptoms have disappeared. This may take several months.
- If severe pain is present: take Hypericum C200 together with Arsenicum album C200 twice daily. This combination should only be taken until the pain has stopped.
- If these remedies have taken effect but other symptoms remain — e.g. skin redness or itching — the treatment should be adjusted accordingly. You can follow my blog regularly for updates.
A brief note on conventional medical treatment
Many patients ask me whether they can use homeopathic remedies alongside conventional medical treatment. My answer is not a blanket recommendation, as every case is unique. The aim of homeopathy is to treat the cause of the illness and to restore health. Conventional medicine usually treats only the presenting symptoms. The goals are therefore different, and for this reason the two approaches are often not compatible.
Homeopathy often works better when it is not interfered with by the effects of synthetically produced medicines. The long-term aim of treatment is always the restoration of health without the burdensome and sometimes harmful side effects of the drugs taken.
Given the opposing paradigms, it is worth considering stopping conventional medications as soon as possible. Nevertheless — and this point is always valid — each case must be weighed carefully and an existing treatment should never be stopped abruptly. An individual decision is required here as well.
