I have written before about Cuprum metallicum. You may recall how useful the homeopathic remedy can be for restless legs syndrome, strabismus or nipping intestinal colic in the bud. But today I would like to turn the focus to Cuprum as an antispasmodic remedy:
Muscle cramps?
Spasms and muscle cramps of all kinds (legs, hands, back, neck, etc.) can be treated with Cuprum metallicum 6. It is taken twice daily until the condition has noticeably improved.
Tics and twitches in the face?
Yes, even that annoying twitch of the eyelid that we all get from time to time responds to this remedy. As a rule this complaint is self-limiting (i.e. it disappears on its own over time). But as a neurological remedy, Cuprum is known to relieve cramp-like tics and twitches in the face. It may be sensible to take Cuprum twice daily until the condition has noticeably improved.
Abdominal cramps?
The abdominal muscles fulfil many functions, not least keeping your organs in place and your body moving. But the different muscles in the abdominal cavity can sometimes contract spasmodically. That is when it is time to consider Cuprum.
For example: with nausea and vomiting we usually think straight away of Ipecac. But Cuprum is also an excellent remedy for vomiting when it is accompanied by cramps of any kind.
Whether the vomiting itself is spasmodic or the abdominal and stomach muscles contract during the nausea: Cuprum could be the better remedy than Ipecac. Even if the patient feels cramps in other parts of the body (such as legs, hands or back) during vomiting, these symptoms can be an indication to take Cuprum metallicum 6. Always as required, until the symptoms have noticeably improved.
Coughing fits?
Each of us has experienced a coughing fit at some point. Coughing until you gag — you know what I mean. With spasmodic coughing fits that lead to shortness of breath or feel like an asphyxiation attack, the homeopathic and antispasmodic remedy Cuprum metallicum 6 can also be the right choice to restore balance. It is worth considering!
Here we have discussed various uses of the 6th potency. In my practice, however, I also have clients who have successfully treated their stiff shoulder with Cuprum 200. Therefore I would say that Cuprum metallicum in several potencies should not be missing from any well-stocked homeopathic medicine cabinet. Further information on dosing and potency of the remedy can be found here https://www.narayana-verlag.de/spektrum-homoeopathie/d-oder-c-potenz-das-ist-hier-die-frage.
Homeopathy helps – spread the word!
Warmly,
Yours
