Resveratrol capsules from Unimedica contain 98 % trans-resveratrol from Japanese knotweed extract. Resveratrol is a secondary phytochemical from the polyphenol group. It is part of the plant's immune system, protecting it from environmental influences, pests and infections.
Resveratrol capsules from Unimedica contain additional piperine from black pepper extract, which raises the bioavailability of resveratrol.
Resveratrol is found in numerous plants, including grapes, raspberries, mulberries, plums and peanuts. The highest concentration was measured in Japanese knotweed.
Asian vegetables in capsules
Japanese knotweed originally comes from the region of Japan, China and Korea. However, it also grows near groundwater on shingle and gravel in central Europe. The deciduous plant grows rapidly. Young seedlings of this knotweed can also be used as a vegetable. Known as "itadori" in Japan, knotweed is traditionally used as a healing tea.
