In good shape even without the sun: for strong bones, muscles and immune system

The "bone vitamins" D and K are an inseparable team. Together they fulfill an important mission for the maintenance of our bones. But each vitamin also has important tasks in its own right.

Vitamin D (cholecalciferol), the "sun vitamin" D, which our body produces itself with sufficient sunlight, contributes to the absorption and utilization of calcium and phosphorus and to normal calcium levels in the blood, to the maintenance of normal muscle function and normal teeth and also ensures the normal function of the immune system.

Vitamin K (menaquinone) in the form K1 acts primarily in the liver and supports normal blood clotting, while vitamin K2 activates various proteins throughout the body and thus boosts calcium utilization.

For high quality and bioavailability with a depot effect

The vitamin D3/K2 depot tablets from Unimedica bring both vitamins together, because they cannot do without each other when it comes to bones. The dosage is so high that one tablet every 20 days is sufficient to ensure an adequate, daily basic supply of vitamin D and vitamin K. The body draws on the depot. The body makes use of the depot. This corresponds to a daily intake of 25µg vitamin D3 (1000 I.U., 500% NRV) and 10µg vitamin K2 (MK-7), (10µg per day = 13% NRV).

The tablets are manufactured in Germany from the high-quality branded raw material MK7 All-Trans. It has the optimum bioavailability of K2. Menaquinone-7 (MK7) remains active in the body for several days after ingestion.

Can you simply eat the "bone vitamins"?

Vitamin D is found in liver, but hardly in fruit and vegetables. As the body cannot produce enough of it without plenty of sunshine, a supplement makes a lot of sense. Vitamin K2 - unlike K1 - is also found less frequently in food. It is mainly found in animal foods and ferments (e.g. natto or sauerkraut).

Why supplement with D3/K2 tablets?

As already mentioned, we cannot get enough of these two important vitamins from our diet. This is particularly the case with vegetarian and vegan diets. In addition, we need more sun than we can usually enjoy in order to produce enough vitamin D ourselves. We need both vitamins to help our bones. It is therefore advisable to supplement with D3/K2 tablets.

Superb!
I have been taking vitamin D3 in 5,000 I.U. daily for over 10 years, balanced with K2. This dosage form from Narayana is a great relief. Although I have a 20-day supply, I take this D3/K2 twice a week, on Sundays and Wednesdays. This product does a great job, especially when the artificially created stagnant chemcloud blankets over the whole of Europe let absolutely no sunlight through for 10 days. We carry the sun in our hearts metaphysically and D3/K2 complements this physically on the 3D level. Thank you Narayana!

Please also take magnesium to support D3. And as a tip for D3: Once you have reached a good vitamin D level, the daily maintenance dose is 1,000IU per 10kg body weight. This means that people of different weights need different doses.

You can't achieve anything with 1000 I/E - the body breaks down 6 to 800 I/E every day

Thank you for the information, but I am well informed myself. There seems to be a misunderstanding here. At no point did I recommend taking 1,000IU daily. I wrote that once you have reached a good/high vitamin D level, you should take a maintenance dose of 1,000I.U. per 10kg body weight. In plain language, this means that a person who weighs 50kg, for example, should take 5,000IU of vitamin D3 every day. Was that clearer now?

Unfortunately, I've only just read this. Firstly, the information that international scientists have been recommending 4,000IU of vitamin D3 daily for years. If you convert this now, you will know at what intervals you can take these tablets. You can also read up extensively on vitamin D3, how to get your vitamin D levels up and how to dose. I recommend the book by Dr Raimund von Helden: "Gesund in sieben Tagen - Erfolge mit der Vitamin-D-Therapie" (also available here at Narayana). Or on youtube the lecture by Prof Dr Jörg Spitz: Vitamin D - "Hype or Hope". I can only recommend this to anyone who wants to inform themselves properly. It always makes sense to have your vitamin D level determined before starting supplementation with vitamin D3. Then you know where you stand and also how much you should take to achieve a good level. You can repeat the test months later to see what progress has been made. And a personal addition from me: vitamin D3 should always be taken, not just in the winter months. However, you can easily double the dose during these months, as there is an increased need. I have been doing this for years.

Good combination product with high dosage
Especially in winter, we humans in the northern winter hemisphere do not get enough sunlight to be able to produce vitamin D. And even in summer, the amount of sunlight in northern Germany is insufficient for two reasons: 1. you would have to lie in the sun completely unclothed for 20 minutes every day (who can manage that). 2. even in summer, we get far too little sun in the north, so it's not surprising that many people like to go on holiday in the south. It is therefore good that Unimedica offers this high-dose product so that we can quickly compensate for deficiencies. The combination with vitamin K2 is also perfect, as a long-term intake of vitamin D without vitamin K supplementation can lead to health problems. As far as dosage is concerned, I follow the advice of Prof Dr Jörg Spitz, who recommends 1,000 international units per 25 kg of body weight. For me, that would be 3,000 units per day, i.e. one tablet every seven days. However, I know from my own experience that vitamin D levels should definitely be measured. 90 per cent of people have a value that is far too low. Therefore, first measure, then supplement and then carry out a control measurement after six months.

But you need vitamin K for this. Otherwise it cannot be metabolised. And then you also need magnesium, that's right, so D3K2 + magnesium

Please do not confuse vitamin K2 with vitamin K1 (usually just called vitamin K)! Vit. K2 keeps arteries clean and, in combination with Vit. D, ensures healthy bones, while Vit. K is important for blood clotting, so Vit. D should always be taken together with Vit. K2, otherwise too much calcium can float around in the blood vessels and be deposited there instead of being transported to the bones (this is what Vit. K2 does).

You also need K2 and of course the magnesium complex. Please do not take magnesium oxide - it does not help. Rather MgCitrate or MgBisglycinate

To top up or because I take D3/K2 irregularly, I took between 10,000 and 100,000 iU per week last winter. I then had a good D3 level of 74 ng/mol. Laboratories say 20/30 is the lower limit, which is far too low. According to studies, the body also begins to tackle existing centres of disease from a value of 100/120 ng/mol. Only if you were to take 100,000 iE daily for a year or longer would there be any problems. I haven't had any so far. I spent last winter without any colds.

I hope that you mean 74ng/ml and not 74nmol/l . The former would be good, the latter unfortunately not. 74nmol/l would only be 29.6ng/ml. As you take a lot of D3 (I do too, by the way), I suspect that this is just a typing error. It makes sense to take D3 daily on a permanent basis (assuming an individual dosage) and not just in the event of a deficiency. Incidentally, this also applies to K2 and magnesium so that D3 can work optimally.

Of course you can. International scientists have been recommending 4,000IU of vitamin D3 a day for years. Then there is also something like personal responsibility. Unfortunately, it is not only Narayana that is legally obliged to specify 1,000I.U. as the maximum daily dosage. You can find out more about D3 on YouTube, for example, with the lecture by Prof Dr Jörg Spitz: Vitamin D - "Hype or Hope". In order for D3 to work optimally, K2 and magnesium should also be taken.

Yes, if you have a deficiency, you are theoretically even allowed to take more so that the deficiency can be remedied more quickly. .... Personally, I now always take 1 a week during the cold season and my values are top👌 (initially I even took two a week for about 2 weeks).

The question is not what you are allowed to take, but how you feel with it. Vitamin D dosage recommendations vary greatly. Very few people are familiar with it. It should always be calculated individually. Weight and initial value play an important role!!!

Hi, it depends on how high your vitamin levels are. If you need to replenish them first, you take more, e.g. every other day for four weeks. Get tested beforehand, but don't go to your GP because they take serum and not whole blood. This gives completely different results. Look for a test online. You'll have to pay for it yourself anyway.

Amount of intake
At approx. 70 kg you should take the tablets every 4th day, the intake is based on body weight and 1 every 20 days is far too little. At 70 kg you need 7000 I.U. This tablet has 20 000 I.U. Take a look at the video by Prof. Dr Jörg Spitz, he knows his stuff and the video is very interesting and humorous. LG A.H.

I'm right there with you. However, I would like to add something. The 1,000 I.U. per 10 kg body weight mentioned is a maintenance dose once the desired vitamin D level has been reached. And yes, the lecture by Prof Dr Jörg Spitz is very informative and also entertaining, which is what you want. Up to now I have generally found lectures very boring.

Of course, there is a noticeable and beneficial effect after the first intake. Because at this dosage you can definitely speak of a powershot or booster. However, this should also be repeated every time if you only take it every 20 days. Let me try a plausible comparable example. If you go to work, let's say, every day for 14 days, you use up a lot of energy. If you then have 1 or 2 days off, your body (hopefully) recovers and you are re-energised and feel better again. What I'm trying to say is that there is a certain cycle. So if you take a certain dose of D3 regularly, there won't be any fluctuations.

Great for the summer
Studies on osteoporosis therapy have shown that taking both vitamins leads to better results. As I have been taking Vit. D3 and K2 in oil form for years to prevent osteoporosis and the oil was inconvenient when travelling, especially in summer, I am very happy about the depot tablets. As I take 1 tablet every 14 days (arthritis), I only need to take 2 tablets with me when I go travelling. I find this super convenient. Thumbs up for price performance 5 full stars!

Hello TEREZA , they say that one dose every 14 days is not enough. It depends on your weight: 1,000 IU per 10 kg, which for a person weighing 70 kg is 7,000 IU per day. Your dosage is for 2 days, unless you have taken your dosage in a laboratory and do not have any deficiencies. Otherwise it's not enough.

Very good product
Since I've been taking this product, things have been going uphill again....I have the feeling that I'm getting strong for life again.... Corona has made me go outside less and less, and I didn't know a lot about vitamin D, that vitamin D is lost in fatty tissue, that vitamin D absorption is prevented by all creams, make-up and clothing. Vitamin D absorption is prevented by all creams, make-up and clothing. That the need is so high.....I currently take a tablet every three days, I notice how I get strength back in my muscles, my mood brightens, I manage more every day.... Thank you for making it so easy - chew a tablet in your mouth, the vitamin D is absorbed even better through the oral mucosa......

A doctor 👨‍⚕️ (his experience) recommended: Permanently force a high vitamin D and E level. The body needs this to heal itself ❤️‍🩹. I've been successfully following this since 04.22. Admittedly, it takes time, but improvements can be felt and clinically measured. My specialist is amazed. A convinced positive attitude to life is of course beneficial!

Your product is excellent in terms of quality, but the expiry date is very short and the time to take 180 tablets is at least 7 years. The expiry date of your products is until the end of 2024 and this product was manufactured in 2020 and I am not satisfied.

I take one of these tablets every 3 days as you need 1000 i.e. for every 10kg depending on your body weight (I am 95kg). I need 9500 i.e. every day and at 65 I feel as if I were 50. I have been taking D3/K2 and magnesium for 6 years and have never been ill again.

I once heard that you can't overdose much. A man once wrote a book about how he felt better and better every day with 40,000 IU. I think I'm going to start soon.

Again and again with pleasure
My husband and I have been taking vitamin D3/K2 for over a year. It is well tolerated and we haven't had a cold or similar for a long time. The vitamin is particularly important now in these "corona times". I have also recommended the product to my daughter-in-law and my son with a clear conscience. They are now also free of colds.

D3 and K2 _ Energy booster
I have always taken a low-dose vitamin preparation. I think it's great that with this depot preparation I now only have to take one tablet every 7-10 days. Vitamit D is an absolute energy booster - I feel much more vital, energised and resilient.

Do you take 40,000 I.U. of D3 every day? Doesn't your vitamin D level go through the roof? Do you have it checked from time to time? I take 20,000 I.U. D3 every day, my level is 150ng/ml. I would also like to point out that any achievable D3 level above 600ng/ml can become toxic!

Hi nope everything is fine. I've been doing it like this for almost 2 years. In the beginning I used 100000 units for 10 days. Then I reduced it to 40000. unfortunately I don't know where my level is. Because I don't have it checked by the doctor. I do it by feeling and of course I take 800 mg magnesium.

I also boosted at the beginning, but "only 50,000 I.U." for 14 days, then 30,000 for a very long time and 50,000 for two months in between. At the moment 20,000 is the order of the day, and I will increase it again in winter. You can always go by feel, but I still think it makes sense to have the value checked after two years. Yes, I know that no overdoses of vitamin D3 are known to date, even if the opposite is repeatedly claimed. I think it's very good that you take 800mg of magnesium every day! Many people are probably not aware that a high dose of D3 also increases the need for magnesium.

How much Mg should you take per 20000 IU? 400 mg or rather 800 mg?

So......It is generally recommended to take 400mg of magnesium daily. However, it is also explicitly recommended to take 800mg of magnesium daily if you are taking high doses of vitamin D. The reason given for this is that there should be an increased need for magnesium. I decided in favour of the 800mg. Ultimately, everyone should decide for themselves what and how much to take. In any case, I always recommend 400mg, and with high doses of vitamin D always 800mg. It is no longer up to me how the person concerned decides. It is a personal and self-determined decision.

Thank you ! That's what I thought. I'm just starting to build up D3 with 40,000 a day, but I don't think I need more than 800 mg of magnesium and that would be too much.

I also assume that you don't need more than a maximum of 800 mg magnesium. Irrespective of this, excess magnesium (as it is water-soluble) is excreted. As far as vitamin D is concerned, I would also like to point out (I don't know if you are aware of this) that K2, magnesium and vitamin C are essential co-factors for optimal functionality. Incidentally, a daily dose of 200 µg of K2 and 1,000 mg of vitamin C are generally recommended. Many people do not seem to be aware of this.

Yes, omega-3 is also fundamentally important, regardless of vitamin D. I recommend three contributions on youtube: Spitzen-Gespräch - Omega 3 Fettsäuren "Hype oder Hope?" , Prof. Dr von Schacky: How much Omega 3 a day makes sense? , Fit with fat - for a lifetime - lecture by Prof Dr Jörg Spitz . Incidentally, I have been taking the following product for a long time: https://www.narayana-verlag.de/Omega-3-Premium-Fischoel-mit-400-mg-EPA-und-300-mg-DHA-hochdosiert-aus-nachhaltigem-Fischfang-1-000-mg-pro-Tagesdosis-1-Kapsel-120-Softgelkapseln-von-Unimedica/b26238 . Finally no more drops every day
I am currently taking D3/K2 drops daily after an osteolysis to support the jaw bone formation for the upcoming implant. Now I no longer have to count the drops every day. Since switching to the tablets about two months ago, my D3 level, which I regularly have determined in the laboratory by my GP, has remained constant. However, I take one tablet every week instead of every fortnight. Nevertheless, the price-performance ratio is excellent compared to the market.

Great combination product
Especially now in autumn, it is super important to get enough vitamin D3... we get little or no sunlight and as vitamin D3 is mainly formed in our skin by the sun and can hardly be absorbed sufficiently through food, we have to supply our body with it separately. In combination with K2, it is even better 👌 I recommend everyone to take it, as it is extremely important for our immune system and can also prevent depression, which many people develop more often in the cold season. ...The tablets are very small and very easy to swallow. Clear recommendation 👌I personally take 1 tablet per week 😉

Highly recommended!
I and my family have been taking vitamin D3 in combination with K2 for a long time. It is increasingly recommended to top up your vitamin D3 levels. This product is perfect for this. Even after a blood test by a doctor, the vitamin D3 level was in the right range and not too low, which is happening more and more often these days. The price-performance ratio is also great. Therefore a super product which I would recommend at any time and have already done so.

Basically, I would like to say that I am delighted with the Narayana company. The prices are absolutely fair and the goods arrive within a very short time. High doses of D3 are always important. Together with K2, magnesium and vitamin C, a cold should have no chance at all. In any case, since I have been taking these things in high doses and regularly, I have never had a cold again.

Valuable vitamin for the body and well-being
I have been taking vitamin D3 for years, not only, but especially in autumn and winter. I can confirm that I feel more balanced and relaxed since then. I also feel a kind of cosy warmth inside. The combination with K2 is said to be particularly valuable for the absorption of vitamin D3 and has a good effect on bones and joints. I take one depot tablet once a week.

Absolutely right. However, I think that 20,000 I.U. of vitamin D3 per day on a permanent basis is completely sufficient. I have been doing this for years and my vitamin D level is permanently in the upper range. However, it is also important to take high doses of magnesium every day so that D3 can work properly! For all those reading here who might be catching their breath because of the high vitamin D3 dosage: 20,000 I.U. D3 is equivalent to about 30 minutes of sunbathing.

Regarding the intake of Mg... I believe that Mg is absorbed umpteen times better through the skin than orally. Do you share this?

Peter before 2 years
I absolutely share this assumption because it has been proven. If magnesium is absorbed as oil through the skin, approx. 60-70% of it is utilised. When taken orally, in the form of effervescent tablets, coated tablets or capsules, only approx. 30-40% is utilised because the magnesium passes through the stomach. But now comes a but from me: there are also magnesium ionic drops. If it is the case (which I don't know) that it is absorbed via the oral mucosa, as is the case with D3 + K2 drops, oral intake could be better in this particular case. But as I said, I don't know, I can only guess. One more note regarding the daily amount of magnesium. Normally 400mg is recommended. With a high D3 dosage, 800mg is recommended because there is an increased requirement. Sick people can also have a higher need for magnesium. More detailed information can be found here: Magnesium therapy through the skin https://ambulantes-schmerzzentrum.de/behandlungen/magnesium-transdermal.html

According to the information I received here, 5 spray strokes (1g of magnesium oil) should correspond to 100mg of magnesium, i.e. magnesium spray oil. You can use this as a guide and dose accordingly. I also use Mg oil in combination with DMSO from time to time for the lower back area. It is important to take magnesium daily so that D3 can work optimally. In addition, the body can store magnesium just as little as vitamin C, which is why a daily intake is recommended anyway. You can also take magnesium baths with magnesium flakes.

Thank you very much. I'm always pleased when I'm able to give helpful tips. I have one more tip regarding the magnesium flakes: as I already knew that you don't need very little, I ordered a 25kg bag (unfortunately not available here). Another piece of information regarding DMSO: If you are not already aware, it can be used for more than just external applications. You can also drink it (highly diluted, of course) for swallowing problems or infections in the mouth. It has often helped me. This also applies to colloidal silver.

Sounds good. My quantities of DMSO are always 100ml bottles and last a long time (if not used daily), and with colloidal silver I started with a 250ml bottle and increased to 1000ml (but I don't use this alone). However, I also have a 100ml spray bottle that I refill from time to time, which makes perfect sense. This makes it easy to spray onto the skin for minor injuries or into the mouth for swallowing problems or infections. This can be very useful when travelling. I only have larger quantities of magnesium flakes (25kg).

Natural or synthetic D3
Hello Narayana, are very satisfied with your products and have recently started taking the D3 pills. You write that the pills consist of or contain pure D3 and K2 and are vegan. My question would be: Is the D3 in the pills of natural origin from e.g. lichen, mushrooms or artificial D3? Your drops have natural D3 from lichen as information. So I can't give a rating yet without the information. Therefore only 2 stars Vg, Christian

Perfect
In my experience, I don't take the capsules as recommended, but twice a week. This fills the stores that have emptied over the winter more quickly. After that I will probably switch to 1/week. I have had very good experiences with this, 1000/day is simply too little, as most of it is needed immediately.

That's ok so far. However, D3 stores are constantly being depleted, not just in winter. In fact, more D3 is needed in winter, which is why a higher (even double) dosage makes sense. Have you ever had your vitamin D level checked?

Okay. But now please tell me that you also take magnesium. Because D3 can only develop and work properly in combination with D3+K2+magnesium. Incidentally, a high D3 dosage also results in an increased need for magnesium (800mg daily). Unfortunately, not many people are aware of this. No or too little magnesium can lead to calcium deficiency, which has a negative effect on bones and teeth.

Sensible combination preparation
Vitamin D3 / K2 MK7 All-trans Depot - D3 20,000 I.U. 500 µg / K2 200 µg is a useful combination preparation for all those who require high doses, either for initial therapy in the case of vitamin D3 deficiency or for subsequent maintenance therapy. The ratio of the two vitamins is perfectly balanced, as high doses of vitamin D require vitamin K2 to utilise the calcium. However, people who are taking blood thinners should consult their doctor as to whether this product is suitable for them. However, Narayana offers various mono-preparations for such cases, which I can also highly recommend. For me, it is a very recommendable product, as it is easy to dose and can be taken at intervals.

Vitamin D3 and K2 depot
I have been ordering from Unimedica for about half a year now and have been very satisfied so far. The goods always arrive quickly and in good, hygienic packaging. I take the vitamin D3 preparation together with vitamin K2 regularly, not swallowing the small tablet but letting it melt slowly in my mouth. This takes a while, but as the flavour is completely neutral, it doesn't bother me at all. It is recommended to swallow the tablet, but vitamin D is supposed to be better absorbed via the oral mucosa. I will continue to order this preparation as I am very satisfied with the price-performance ratio.
