Plaque and Psyche

In view of the outstanding significance of the pandemic for societies around the world and for homeopathic practice in particular, we are devoting a further issue to this topic, following our issues on the genus epidemicus and long Covid. Even if the acute infections are hopefully soon dropping thanks to vaccination and acquired immunity, we will certainly be mired in the long-term effects of this global crisis for many years to come. For people of all ages Covid-19 has become a synonym for multiple traumatic experiences: health fears, worries about work and future, loss of relatives without being able to say goodbye, social contact restrictions and deprivation, forced lockdown without the chance to exercise and move freely, loss of artistic expression and so on.

At the same time the subjective experience of the pandemic for many people has encouraged suppressed feelings and conflicts to come to light. This combination of acute trauma and old wounds presents us with major challenges but also offers a special chance for deep healing. The cases in this issue aim to show how homeopathy can take advantage of this opportunity.
