Cyrus Maxwell Boger

Cyrus Maxwell Boger
1861-1935

was born on May 14, 1861 in Annville, Pennsylvania. He completed his medical training in 1888 at the Hahnemann College in Philadelphia. He subsequently settled in Parkersburg, West Virginia, where he worked as a homeopathic physician until his death in 1935.

Boger was of German origin and spoke fluent German. He devoted himself to the works of Boenninghausen, whose work he translated and extended; in 1905, he published “Boenninghausen's Characteristics and Repertory.”

Boger brought out the genius of a remedy or a case with characteristic precision and brevity, as we can see from his works “Synoptic Key” and “General Analysis.” Boger always sought a balance between the minute details and the overarching generalities of a remedy and of individual cases. His repertories simplify the process of selecting a remedy.

Main works:
1. Boenninghausen’s
Characteristics and Repertory
2. Synoptic Key to the
Materia Medica
3. Times of Remedies and
Moon Phases
