It has taken the Israeli biologist and botanist Dr Michal Yakir just ten years to research her sophisticated system of homeopathic plant remedies. Inspired by Jan Scholten‘s pioneering work Homeopathy and the Elements, she has discovered a similar classification system for the plants; like the periodic table, it depicts the journey of the human
soul and the development of the ego. In this interview the committed homeopath skilfully explains the use of her plant table with its six columns. An essential aspect is the interplay of the female and male aspects of a person – on the far left is complete unity, the predominance of the female aspect, and each column to the right is associated
with the further development of independence. With this moulding of the personality from left to right, we increasingly see male aspects, resulting in aggressive patterns such as fighting and war, culminating in the column at the far right.
This plant system permits us to differentiate relatively unknown remedies, which resemble the overarching themes of the groups. In combination with the sensation method, the “wondrous organisation” of the plants can be extremely effective, as Mahesh Gandhi has found in his work.
After this very ambitious project – her great passion – there are still further challenging tasks awaiting Michal Yakir, including a study of the homeopathic treatment of PMS with over 100 cases. This highlights another key focus of her work – homeopathy for women and the position of women in Israeli society. A fascinating portrait of a courageous homeopath.
Das Interview entstand anlässlich des Kongresses „Homöopathie bei psychischen Erkrankungen“ vom 8.-10. März 2013 in Bad Krozingen, DVD, ca. 50 Min.
