Selected rubrics relating to pregnancy, birth and infancy. These are divided into sections using general headings found in other repertories with additional specific headings such as Lactation, Nipples, Placenta, Os, Colic.

Foreword:

Thirty years ago I shifted from Delhi to Chandigarh after I had opportunities to be trained in well known hospitals in Delhi. Two of them were Lady Irwin and Sir Gangaram wherein I could train myself in the examination of the patients with special attention to ear, nose, throat, eyes, chest and abdomen. From the beginning of my practice I used to examine the patients and note down my observations. This created a sensation, because this was the first time in this region that people saw a homoeopath using a stethoscope. Sick folks from far and near flocked my clinic, and made me more busy than what I could expect in the beginning of my practice. Often I had to refer to many books to deal with one single case. It not only embarrassed me but also made the patients impatient and restless because of the waiting. During this time I felt the need of bringing together all the symptoms pertaining to a particular section in one book for easy and quick reference.
Six years ago the authoress started compiling the book on mother and neonate, the types of cases she was dealing with. I encouraged her to do so. She brought various rubrics lying scattered in 10 different books in one place and arranged them according to the topic in a clearly discernible format, according to the universally accepted schema of Hahnemann, beginning from head and ending to foot. The primary intention of compiling this book was more practical, to let the practitioners choose the most suitable rubric and the medicine. The task was not easy. She recognised and came to grip with the protean ambiguity and rejecting what was not suitable for the book. She undertook the herculean task even after realizing the difficulties and pitfalls and could complete it only after 6 years of constant labour.
We live in a world where homoeopathy is recognized as an alternative system of medicine and the days are not too far when the people will choose homoeopathy alone for the treatment of all their diseases, provided we practise strictly classical homoeopathy. Hahnemann and his contemporaries had to practise with a very limited number of medicines which made it difficult for them to exhibit all-round results. Now we have ample medicines at our service, even then we are not able to achieve what our ancestors could do. New repertories have come up with added rubrics and medicines. If one does not get the right remedy in one book, one (if a little pain is taken) may consult another and find the remedy. Now with the added medicines and repertories the sick folks who are crying for help can be helped much more than ever before. It is your turn now to deliver the goods. The iron is red, strike it with all your might. Practise the classical homoeopathy, success will be yours!
Dr. Meera tried to render a helping hand to those who are searching for such help. She made a survey of all the books she could lay her hands upon and picked out the valuable treasure and brought them together in this book. I am sure that this will not only serve as a book for quick reference but also prove as a life saving instrument for the expectant mothers and
the neonates.
