Organic borage oil from Unimedica is extracted from the seeds of the borage plant (also known as starflower). The plants used for this organic borage oil from Unimedica are grown in strictly certified organic conditions. After the harvest the seeds are gently cold-pressed. This largely preserves the valuable ingredients in the all-natural plant oil, without any additives.
Borage is one of the many species in the Boraginaceae family. The plant originates from the Mediterranean and has been cultivated since the late middle ages. The coarse hairy leaves have a typical cucumber-like taste.
