The secret of the European smoketree is called fisetin

Fisetin capsules from Unimedica have been developed to enlarge the choice of phytonutrients (like quercetin, for example) available to supplement a balanced and varied diet. The plant substance fisetin for our capsules is extracted from the European smoketree (Cotinus coggygria). This is where fisetin is found in very high concentrations. The plant parts are carefully dried and ground down to a powder.

What does fisetin from Unimedica consist of?

Each of our fisetin capsules contains European smoketree powder with 100 mg fisetin. This corresponds roughly to the amount found in approx. 50 g strawberries.

What is fisetin good for?

The flavonoid fisetin is a polyphenol – a yellow to ochre-coloured plant colouring. This is also partly responsible for the intensive colouring of the European smoketree. This plant contains a very high concentration of the polyphenol fisetin, causing not only the attractive blaze of colour but also acting as a defence substance against pests and environmental stress such as UV radiation, contributing to the long-term flourishing of the plant.

Which plants also contain fisetin?

Along with the European smoketree, strawberries, tomatoes, onions, cucumbers, oranges and kiwis also contain natural amounts of fisetin, but only in small concentrations.

Why take fisetin capsules?

European smoketree contains a notably higher concentration of fisetin than normal foods. So the capsules help you to directly consume this nutrient in a simple and convenient way, independent of the time of year and the available foods. The content of fisetin in the capsules is standardised whereas in fruits it depends on natural factors and can vary greatly.

What is special about the European smoketree?

This decorative garden plant with its attractive yellow-red leaves, the red-brown bark and the delicate flowers is a distinctive feature. The shape of the flowers and the crown are reminiscent of a wig – hence the common German name “wig bush”. The European smoketree grows tall and wide. It is native to southern Europe and Asia.

Each brown bottle of Fisetin from Unimedica contains 30 capsules. This is enough for one month.
